Thunder 3 — a sci-fi comedy anime where three ordinary middle-school friends play a DVD, and their cartoon-like bodies in a parallel universe give them superpowers, but their cute little sister disappears and now they have to fight aliens and the multiverse.
Pyontaro, Tsubame, and Hiroshi — three middle-school friends known as the “Small 3” — get a mysterious DVD from their teacher and play it. In the blink of an eye, Pyontaro’s little sister Futaba is transported to a parallel universe and kidnapped by aliens. Now they have to enter that world, where their cartoon-like bodies make them superhuman, and fight against aliens, flying battleships, and giant weapons. It’s fun to watch — comedy, adventure, and a completely unique visual style.
Season 1’s total episode count hasn’t been announced yet, and it is currently ongoing — it has been streaming globally on Netflix since July 8, 2026, with new episodes releasing weekly.
