The story follows Ash Ketchum — a 10-year-old boy who starts his Pokemon journey from Pallet Town. His first Pokemon is Pikachu — who doesn’t like him at all initially, but slowly their bond becomes the strongest in the world. In this season, Ash travels through the entire Kanto region, collects badges, catches new Pokemon, and along the way, he is joined by his friends Misty (water type trainer) and Brock (rock type trainer). Every episode has something new — gym battles, Team Rocket’s failures (their famous dialogue “Prepare for trouble!”), and Ash’s imperfection that makes him relatable. This is where the Pokemon craze all started.
Season 1 has a total of 82 episodes (Japanese version) and is completed — it aired from April 1997 to January 1999 in Japan.
